Terms of Use

The rules for using the Viner archive, beta platform, and app.

📘

1. Overview and agreement

Viner is a fan-made project that lets people explore short-form videos from the original Vine archive and from new uploads created on the Viner platform. Viner is operated by Reeseify (“we”, “us”, “our”) and is not officially affiliated with Vine, Twitter, X Corp, or any related company.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and us. By accessing or using any part of Viner (including viner.co, beta.viner.co, the Viner Android app, or any other Viner-branded service that links to these Terms), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use Viner. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian and only use Viner with their permission.

🧩

2. Services and changes to Viner

Viner currently offers two main experiences, which may change over time:

  • Archive site (viner.co): a read-only experience where you can explore preserved Vine clips and related metadata. You cannot log in, upload, or delete content on the archive itself.
  • Beta platform (beta.viner.co and the Android app): an experimental layer where you may be able to create Viner accounts, upload new clips (“Viners”), follow profiles, and interact with content. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed at any time.

Because Viner is experimental and developed by a single or very small team, you understand and agree that:

  • The Services may be unavailable or unstable at times.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Viner with or without notice.
  • We may reset or delete test data, including beta content, if needed for technical reasons.
👤

3. Eligibility, accounts, and security

You may browse the public archive without creating an account. To use features that require an account, such as uploading new clips or saving items, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old.
  • Provide accurate, current information when you register.
  • Choose a secure password and keep it confidential.
  • Not share your account or login details with others.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, you should change your password and contact us at support@viner.co.

If we reasonably believe that any account information is inaccurate, or that an account is being used in violation of these Terms, we may suspend, restrict, or close the account.

⚠️

4. Acceptable use and prohibited behavior

You agree that you will not use Viner for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose. Without limiting the general rule, you agree that you will not:

  • Break any applicable law or regulation while using Viner.
  • Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other people.
  • Post hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
  • Post or promote content that includes or encourages serious self-harm or violence against others.
  • Share sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualizes minors in any way.
  • Upload sexually explicit content, pornography, or fetish content.
  • Share someone’s private personal information (for example, home address, email, phone number, or other identifying details) without their clear permission.
  • Upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Use Viner to send spam, scams, or misleading promotions.
  • Use bots, scripts, or other tools to artificially inflate views, likes, or follows.
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the servers, networks, or security of Viner.

We may remove content or restrict access to Viner if we believe that you have violated these rules or that your behavior risks harming other users, the project, or third parties.

🎥

5. User content and licenses

“User Content” means any video, audio, image, text, profile information, comments, or other material that you upload, post, or otherwise make available on Viner.

You keep ownership of the rights you already have in your User Content. However, by uploading or sharing User Content on Viner, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute that content in connection with operating, improving, and promoting Viner. This license includes the right to create backups, show your content on different devices and formats, and generate thumbnails or previews.

You confirm that:

  • You have the necessary rights to upload the User Content and to grant this license.
  • Your User Content does not violate any laws or rights of others (including privacy, publicity, and intellectual property rights).

We may remove, limit, or refuse to display any User Content if we believe it violates these Terms or may cause harm to other users or to the project.

🧾

6. Archive content and third-party rights

Many videos displayed on Viner are preserved from the original Vine platform. These clips, and any associated logos, branding, and trademarks, remain the property of their respective owners.

We do not claim ownership of the original Vine content. We present this material as part of a historical and educational archive. However, we do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of that archive and cannot guarantee that every rights holder has approved every specific use.

If you believe that archived content on Viner infringes your rights, you should contact us as explained in the Copyright & DMCA section of this page and the dedicated Copyright page.

🔐

7. Privacy and data

When you use Viner, we collect certain information about you and your activity. How we collect, use, store, and share this information is described in our Privacy Policy and Data Safety Summary.

By using Viner, you acknowledge that you have read those documents and understand how your information may be handled.

⚖️

8. Enforcement, suspension, and termination

We may take action at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if doing so is reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, or the stability of Viner. Possible actions include:

  • Removing or restricting specific User Content.
  • Limiting certain features on your account.
  • Temporarily suspending your account.
  • Closing your account and blocking future access.

You may stop using Viner at any time. If you wish to close your account or request deletion of certain data, you can contact support@viner.co. Because Viner is small and experimental, we cannot promise to preserve or export all of your content or data.

📉

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Viner is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not make promises or guarantees about the reliability, availability, security, or accuracy of Viner.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data, that result from your use of or inability to use Viner. Some places do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In those places, our liability will be limited to the minimum extent required by law.

ℹ️

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date below. If the changes are significant, we may also provide a notice in the app or on the site.

If you continue to use Viner after changes take effect, you will be considered to have accepted the updated Terms.

For questions about these Terms, you can contact terms@viner.co or contact@viner.co.
