Safety & Moderation

How Viner approaches safety, reports, and moderation.

đŸ›Ąī¸

1. Safety goals

Viner combines historical archive content with new uploads. Our goal is to make it feel like a fun, manageable space, not a place where people are harassed or exposed to extreme content without warning.

We cannot monitor everything in real time, but we do take safety seriously and will act where we can.

🧰

2. Moderation approach

Viner is a small, fan-made project. Moderation relies on:

  • User reports sent to our support or safety inbox.
  • Manual review when time is available.
  • Simple automated checks to reduce spam and obvious abuse.

This means we cannot promise that all harmful content will be caught immediately, but reports help us focus on the most serious issues.

🚨

3. What you should report

Examples of content or behavior that you should report include:

  • Harassment, bullying, or hateful attacks.
  • Sexual content involving minors or content that appears to sexualize minors.
  • Serious self-harm content or strong encouragement of self-harm.
  • Credible threats of violence or other dangerous illegal activity.
  • Impersonation of you or someone you know in a harmful or misleading way.

If someone is in immediate danger, do not wait for Viner to respond. Contact local emergency services or a trusted adult right away.

4. How to report concerns

You can report serious safety or content issues by emailing safety@viner.co or support@viner.co. Try to include:

  • Links to the specific content or profiles involved.
  • The usernames of the people involved.
  • A brief description of what happened and why it is a safety issue.

We will review reports in good faith and decide what action to take. Because Viner is small, there may be delays, but we prioritize serious concerns when they are clearly explained.

5. Possible actions and expectations

Depending on the situation, we may remove or limit access to content, limit features on an account, or suspend or close accounts. In rare, serious cases involving risk of harm, we may cooperate with relevant services if doing so is appropriate and possible.

Moderation and safety actions are best-effort for a small project and are not guaranteed to catch every problem. Last updated: 27 November 2025.
