How Viner handles archived clips, new uploads, and copyright concerns.

Š

1. Respect for creators and rights

Viner is built around short looping clips — both preserved Vines and new Viners. We want to celebrate creativity while respecting the rights of original creators and other rightsholders.

This page explains how we think about copyright and how you can contact us if you believe your work is being used without permission.

2. Archived Vine content

Many videos displayed on Viner come from the original Vine platform and are part of a preserved archive. These clips, and any related trademarks or branding, remain the property of their original creators and rightsholders.

We do not claim ownership over this content. We present it in a historical, read-only context. However, if a creator or rightsholder has serious concerns about how a particular piece of content appears in Viner, we encourage them to contact us so we can review the situation.

3. What users may upload

When you upload new content to Viner, you are responsible for making sure you have the necessary rights to do so. You agree that you will not upload:

  • Full movies, TV episodes, or music tracks you do not own or control.
  • Content copied from other platforms or creators without permission.
  • Clips that use copyrighted material in ways that clearly go beyond any allowed exceptions in your region.

Short excerpts, memes, or remixes may or may not be allowed under the laws where you live. You are responsible for understanding and following those laws.

4. How to request removal of your content

If you are a creator or rightsholder and you believe that content on Viner uses your work without permission, you can email copyright@viner.co with:

  • Your full name and contact information.
  • Evidence that you own or control rights to the original work (for example, a link to an official channel, website, or release).
  • Links to the specific content on Viner that you are concerned about.
  • A brief explanation of why you believe the use is not authorized.

We may temporarily restrict or remove the content while we review your request and may follow up with additional questions if needed.

5. Abuse of copyright tools and questions

Submitting false or misleading copyright complaints can cause real harm. Please do not use copyright tools to attack other users or try to remove content you do not actually own.

If you are unsure about a copyright issue or have general questions, you can email contact@viner.co. We will explain how our process works but cannot provide formal legal advice.
